Over 100 projects to date have benefitted from funds from Soul of Africa in Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa.

In addition the care centres and children’s homes being built, schools have also been upgraded and other interventions made.

Soul of Africa wanted to specifically focus on the Lower Molweni Valley and make an impact on every child’s life there.

At this time another effective partnership was created with Philengethemba (meaning ‘Living Through Hope’), a social service arm of St. Agnes Anglican Church, Kloof, who were already working in the Valley.

To date Soul of Africa & Philengethemba have:

*Built a Grade R reception classroom at Bazamile Primary School.

*Repaired the foundations of Bazamile, eroded by floods.

*Built toilet blocks for staff & students at Lamula Primary School.

*Secured the media centre at Lamula.

*Built playing fields at the primary schools.

*Built & equipped a science lab at Tholulwazi High School.

*Built flats at Tholulwazi for teacher & visiting volunteers (people are reluctant to serve in the Molweni Valley as there is no suitable accommodation).

*Built a soccer pitch for Tholulwazi High School.

*Upgraded 2 local creches – Kholowethu & Dabulamanzi.

*Created a small reading programme.
